Description

M63, the Sunflower Galaxy, one of the gems of the spring deep sky. M63 is a beautiful example of a flocculent spiral galaxy with fragmented disk dotted with active star-forming regions. The data for this image was collected over several nights in April-May 2021 using the 250mm f/4 Lacerta Photonewton and ZWO ASI294MM Pro camera. The image is a combination of LRGB and H-alpha exposures:

L: 33x300s (Gain 0, bin 1x1), 49x90s (Gain 108, bin 1x1)
R: 43x180s (Gain 108, bin 1x1)
G: 36x180s (Gain 108, bin 1x1)
B: 31x180s (Gain 108, bin 1x1)
Ha: 18x600s (Gain 200, bin 1x1)
Total exposure: 12.5 hours
